This is a unique event in which the most number of professionals in world history focus their cameras simultaneously not only for the protection of their occupational rights but also for the right of each Indian citizen to have his/her identifiable pictures in his/her identification cards. This is also an unforgettable cultural struggle in which thousands of cameras open their eyes at the same moment to force open the eyes of the authorities.
Through this Samara Prathijna AKPA is demanding that the professional photographers may be entrusted with all the work of taking photos for Election ID Card, Adhar Card, Passport, Ration Card and such other identification purposes, that their occupational rights may be protected, that they may be given Government approved ID cards, that they may be allowed ESI benefits, that price rise may be controlled, that an Academy of Still Photography may be established, that adequate compensation may be given to those who are displaced for development purposes and that misuse of photos taken using mobile phones may be stopped.
