The 29th State Convention of All Kerala Photographers Association
The 29th State Convention of All Kerala Photographers Association was held in Palakkad from 16 to 18 December.
The meeting was inaugurated on December 16 with the State President T J Varghese hoisting the flag at Municipal town hall, Palakkad.
The exhibition of photography contest organised as a part of the event was inaugurated by Somasekharan I P S, the Superintendent of Police, in a meeting that was presided over by KK Asokan, State Secretary.
The trade fair was inaugurated by T J Varghese at 2pm at Ramadas Nagar. It was followed by a seminar on Photography and Labour issues (Photographyum Thozhil Prashnangalum) led by Sajeev Vasadithi, the State Vice-President. The session inaugurated by T N Kandamuthan, District Panchayath President was moderated by P V Balan, former State President.
Prominent writer Mundoor Sethumadhavan and social worker Parvathi Warrier were felicitated in the cultural convention on December 17 at 10 am. C P Muhammad MLA from Pattambi inaugurated the event.
A giant rally of the members of AKPA was organised at 3pm. The public function followed by the rally was inaugurated by Shaffi Parambil MLA.
The Excellency award of AKPA was given to P J Cherian, Principal cameraman of Manorama News by Adv. N Shamsuddin MLA. The latter as well delivered the State Photography and Videography awards, the Davis Pulikottil award and SSLC and Plus Two awards.
The representative meeting held on 18th was inaugurated by MRN Panicker, Chairman of the AKPA Welfare Board with TJ Varghese presiding over the event. The meeting unanimously approved the report and the budget in the discussion in which two representatives from each district participated.
The new governing committee was elected in the meeting that followed. Vijayan Maranchery was selected the new President. Vice presidents: P S Devadas, Jose Mundakkal. General Secretary: P V Balan.
